And now a word from our ASSistant....

Sorry we haven't been able to post any updates on Shelly lately but it's been a real roller coaster ride with her treatment and care.  She was released from the re-hab center on June 3 when her re-hab insurance ran out of benefits.  We brought her home to try and care for her here, but six days later she was back in the hospital again.  After three weeks of hospital care, we brought her back here again.  We tried so hard for almost a month and failed miserably in trying to take care of her.  She was very weak and unable to walk, even with her prosthetic leg.  She fell a few times and on one of those occasions, I pulled a muscle in my back trying to pick her up.  John injured his back trying to push her down three stairs in a wheelchair to get her to the car for a doctor appointment.  The doctors, her case worker, and a social worker have all agreed that we just can't take care of her properly with all her disabilities.  On Sunday we had to take her to the ER again and she is now back in ICU as they try to diagnose her latest problems.  They are actively searching for another re-hab center that will accept her when she is able to be discharged.  This has been a long, hard road for all of us, but your continued prayers and POTP will get us through this latest crisis.  For this I say THANK YOU to each and every one of you.  Hopefully they will locate a nice place that can help her.

HUGS and WOOFS!
♥♥♥

Frankie and Ernie are just great like that. We are so sorry about your continued struggles....we say a prayer everyday for your family and that you will find the best place for Shelly's care. WE are still working on getting Maceys hose, all this time, no one knows what to do with a child with lymphedema around here. It is a real mess.

Sorry Shelly is back in the hospital. Our health care seems so limited when it comes to chronic on going health issues.

We're so sorry to hear about your Shelly. Ghostwriter knows exactly how hard it is to take care of people with disabilities because she works in a nursing home. We wish we lived near by so she could help you! We'll be thinking about you all!

I hope the hospital peeps can figure out a rehab that can take her and give her the bestest care, so she can heal up and gets well. I am sendin' lots of POTP and healin' vibes and TONS of AireZens to your family!!! Thinkin' of you guys! Remember, if there is anythings we can do, let us know!

Frankie and Ernie are great friends.

Insurance companies just make steam come out of our mom's ears. It isn't right that you should have to injure yourselves trying to care for her when she should be in a proper care facility.

We are keeping our paws crossed that all gets better for Shelly.

Oh, how wonderful of Frankie and Ernie. At first we thought you were going to say they sent you lots of veggies from their garden. But they sent you the good stuff.

You folks have been amazing! We pray there are brighter, happier days ahead for all of you! {{{Hugs}}}

What wonderful friends to think of yo all...and it seems so yummy! Your poor human sissy just cannot seem to get a break and we know it takes so much outt of all your family. Has she talked with the patient advocate at the hospital to see if there is anything that they can do to get her at least assistance at home? Something? It is just wrong that she has very real needs and they are not being met. We ask the Universe to provide answers and solutions and reveal a future of hope and recovery. Feel our paws and arms around you all.

Ziggy Out!!

I continue to pray for all of you everyday and hope for a solution and some hope at the end of that very long tunnel you have been facing for so long. God bless you all

Hmmm, Amber...I could've sworn that Bravo box was supposed to be a surprise so that you would not know who it was from! Interesting....I may need to have a "talking to" with Bravo! But, I am glad you got your pressie package and I am SUPER glad you all enjoyed all your treats! You and your family are still in our prayers...every day.

Good job Frankie and Ernie! We're sorry to hear of Amber's continued difficulties and really appreciate how much goes into care of someone (Mom took care of her Dad after his stroke 8 years ago while he recovered).

We will continue to pray for her and your family.
