So, I'm HIJACKING our blog today!
I have a dilemma and I don't nose how to handle it!
My little sissy, Shelby, was born on February 29, 2012.
So do that mean she won't have a barkday for 3 more years, or do I wish her a Hap-Pee Barkday today????? Or maybe tomorrow???? Or not until 2016????
Any answer to this question would be greatly appreciated.

Oh Shelby has to have a yearly birthday. Either 28th or 1st will do but every four years is a long long wait. Looking good Max! Have a terrific Thursday.

I think that Shelby's birthday starts at noon on the 28th and goes until noon on the 1st!
Being born on Feb 29th means Shelby gets to celebrate her birthday on the 28th AND the 1st on the years where there's no 29th! :)
Shelby will be like the Queen of England, she will have to have a specials date named for her birthday, then every four years, she get's two..Whoooo I'm off for some cake now :) xx00xx

Here's the deal. If she was born in the morning on the 29th, celebrate her birthday on the 28th except for the leap year, year. If she was born in the afternoon on the 29th, then celebrate her birthday on the 1st of March except for the leap year, year.

Max, you just made me think of sumpin. I dunno wot day my birthday is on coz I commed from the big bad shelter but we think it be Feb/Mar seeing as I woz about 4 months old in July 2001. Now, nobuddy beleefs I is turning 12 soooooooo, mebbe, just mebbe, I woz birfed on Feb 29, 2001 and I is rilly only 3 years old! Oh well, furget that theory, 2001 woz not a leaping year. Sorry, thought I could help you on that one but appawrently not. So I will just woof a Happy Birthday to your sis to be safe.

MOL Max....mom has a cousin who was born of 2/29...he just celebrates twice as hard every year 4 years plus on March 1.

Casey has an excellent and diplomatic solution to the problem of the Leap Year birth day. Or Shelby could celebrate TWO birthdays every year, the 28th AND the 1st. Double the cake. Happy birthday, Shelby! And Weenie.
